Some clients need protection for an evening. Others need the same people beside them for three weeks, in six cities. Extended details travel with you, stay where you stay, and get to the next city before you do.
What extended protection covers
A traveling detail has the same pieces as one at home, spread across more places and more hours. The difference is continuity: the agents who know how you like to move on day one still know it on day twenty, and you are not briefing a new local firm in every city.
- Airport and private aviation arrivals and departures
- Hotel advance: floor, room, entrances, the route to the car
- Venue, office, and restaurant advance ahead of each stop
- Local security drivers and vehicles arranged in each city
- Coordination with local venue security and, where needed, local law enforcement
- A rotation plan for long trips, so agents stay rested
The advance travels a day ahead
On a multi-city trip one agent usually moves ahead of the group. By the time you land, the hotel has been walked, the car is confirmed, the venue contact has a name and a phone number, and the route from the FBO or the terminal has been driven at the time you will be driving it.
Tours
A tour leg is its own kind of travel: a bus or a plane, a new arena every night, load-in in the afternoon, a crowd at the stage door after the show. International travel
Firearms laws, licensing, and what a private agent can lawfully do change at every border and in many states. For travel outside Tennessee we plan the detail around those rules before departure, and where an armed local agent is needed we arrange one through a licensed firm in that jurisdiction rather than pretending our Tennessee registration travels with us.
Questions
Yes, as a rule, and usually on the same floor or close to it. Travel, lodging, and meals for the detail are billed as expenses on top of the agent rate.
Only where the law allows it. Armed security registration is state by state, so for travel outside Tennessee we plan the detail around the destination's rules and use licensed local agents where an armed agent is required.
As early as the itinerary exists. A long trip needs advance work in every city, and that is far better done without a rush.
