A private security detail, run by one lead
A detail is what a single bodyguard becomes once there is a schedule. Several agents, a driver, the advance work on every stop, and one lead agent who owns the day and answers to you or to whoever manages your calendar.
How a detail is put together
The size of a detail comes from the schedule and the exposure, not from a package. A family weekend in Belle Meade with one dinner out might need a lead and a driver. A three-day visit with a public appearance, a label meeting, and a late night downtown needs more, and it needs someone ahead of you at each stop.
- Lead agent: plans the detail, stays with the principal, makes the calls on the day
- Advance agent: arrives at the next location first and confirms the route in, the room, and the way out
- Security driver: trained in protective driving, stays with the vehicle, knows the alternate routes
- Additional agents: for residences, larger groups, or events
The advance
Before a detail starts, we walk or drive every location on the schedule. Where the car drops off and where it waits. Which entrance, and which one if that one is crowded. Where the nearest emergency room is, and how long it takes to get there at that hour. Who at the venue or hotel is our contact.
For outdoor events and larger venues, the advance can include a drone flight to look at approaches, parking, and the route out, where airspace rules and the property owner allow it.
Working with your people
A detail has to fit around the people already in your life: an assistant who runs the calendar, a tour manager, a chief of staff, a household manager, a venue's security team. We agree up front who gives the schedule, who can change it, and how we reach them, so nobody finds out about a change in the lobby.
Discretion
Agents on a detail do not post, do not name clients, and do not talk about where you have been. Confidentiality agreements are standard. If you would rather the detail not look like a detail, we dress to match your group and keep our distance until it matters.
